POSTION SUMMARY
The Jewish Federation of Cincinnati is a national model for the development of financial resources through its annual campaign, planned giving and endowments, and a shared fundraising model. There are three pillars to the Young Adult Division: Fundraising, Leadership Development and Engagement. The YAD Development officer must be a dynamic and forward-thinking. This role includes creating leadership development and targeted outreach/education, which promote and increase involvement in the campaign and expand community awareness and understanding of issues facing both the local and global Jewish communities. This role is fostering the next generation of philanthropists and Jewish leaders. This role will require a flexible schedule including working evenings and weekends.
 

The Development officer’s primary role is to support the following Development team Mission and Core Federation Strategies:

  • Maximize Giving and Campaign Participation
  • Build a Strong Community for young professionals (21-45)
  • Develop Professional and Volunteer Leaders
  • Connect community members to Israel and their Jewish Identity

The Development Officer will be responsible for identifying, cultivating and developing young Jewish leaders and connecting them to the organized Jewish community through our 3 pillars of leadership development, fundraising and engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
The Young Adult Division's leadership structure

  • Organize and manage annual leadership development program, LEAD which empower and develop current and future volunteer leaders

FUNDRAISING

  • Manage all fundraising activities related to Young Leadership including discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.
  • Help steward specific giving societies for donors under the age of 45.
  • Manage and steward a portfolio of assigned community donors.

ENGAGEMENT

  • Host meaningful opportunities for engagement for young professionals ages 21-45 including strategy, budget, and oversight.
  • Partner with leading local, national and global organizations in the young adult space to develop and foster mutually beneficial partnerships aimed at creating a more robust Jewish community for young adults in Cincinnati.


Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, leadership development, program and project management, or significant involvement in the Jewish community OR a specialized experience, degree or certification in Jewish Communal leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, meticulous attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Demonstrated ability to set goals, be organized, detailed and have ability to multi-task on several ongoing projects or programs.
  • Flexibility for taking part in early-morning meetings and evening and weekend meetings and events is required.
  • Team-building skills for fostering internal and external collaboration is a necessity;
  • Must be committed to the mission of The Jewish Federation of Cincinnati and have an intimate knowledge of Jewish customs and practices.


Salary range: $55,000 - $59,000 based on experience
