Position Details:

· Schedule: Monday to Friday, occasional weekend & overtime work as required
Summary:
As a key individual contributor to the overall efficiency of the operation, the Yard & Shop Coordinator, reporting into General Manager, Western Region and or his designate, the incumbent will be directly responsible for the overall day to day operations of the yard and shop.
The primary responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
· Assist in the creation and development of a yard/shop safety plan.
· Assist in the receiving, loading, and unloading of trucks and materials required to facilitate installation projects.
· Maintain cleanliness of yard and shop, ensuring that all necessary items are stored in an organized manner, and that anything not required, is disposed of accordingly.
· Fleet & Equipment Maintenance - facilitate and when possible, complete the repairs to the fleet (crane trucks, bucket trucks, vans, trailers etc.) and the various types of equipment within the yard and shop (Bobcat, generators, tools etc.)
· Oversee the completion of monthly regular safety audits on the fleet and equipment.
· Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Academic Training:
· High School Diploma or Higher Education
· Commercial Driver’s License an asset
Work Experience:
· 5+ years in a similar role
Specific Competencies:
· Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving
· Demonstrated ability to operate tools, e.g. hand tools, power tools.
· Demonstrated understanding of Provincial Guidelines to Construction Safety
· Demonstrated ability to operate equipment – Bobcat, forklift etc.
· Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
· Outstanding verbal and written communication, including paperwork.
· A basic understanding of blueprints and drawings, and the ability to read and interpret.
· Ability to collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Physical Demands:
· Work will be performed in an indoor/outdoor environment with occasional job site visits as necessary.
· Outdoor environment with prolonged exposure to weather – heat and cold, inclement weather.
• Lifting or moving boxes up to 50 lbs. may be required.
