Press Tab to Move to Skip to Content Link Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Already a Manitoba health-care employee?If you are a current Manitoba health-care employee looking for new opportunities, please click on the button below.The Working Chief Engineer is responsible to maintain heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment, electrical systems that control the flow of both utility and self-generated emergency power, and more visible systems such as elevators, grounds and lighting.Service: Physical Plant and MaintenanceStarting Date:June 11, 2024Shift and Hours of Work: 1.0FTE - full-time - hours of work currently 07:30 - 15:45 (Summer); 07:30 - 19:30 / 19:30 - 07:30 (Winter)Pay Scale: As per CUPE Collective AgreementSpecifications: Assignment and hours of work are subject to change at any time as per operational requirements.Closing Date: April 9, 2024Required QualificationsEducation:Valid Manitoba or Inter-provincial 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate to assume responsibility as plant chief.Experience:Minimum of 5 years experience in Power Engineering field at the current level;Maintenance and use of fire protection and firefighting equipment;Maintaining all aspects of a Preventative Maintenance Program;Acceptable training and experience in the ongoing operation and maintenance of a large facility, preferably healthcare; andExperience in the use of personal computers and various software.Abilities and Skills:Ability to evaluate necessary management information from a Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure required maintenance routines and repairs have been carried out, including knowledge of HIPPO;Ability to train and develop employees;Ability to communicate well orally and in writing in both official languages (French & English);Ability to understand technical language & manuals;Demonstrated leadership in fostering an open and respectful work environment;Demonstrated independent and collaborative decision making skills;Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills;Must be in good physical and mental health;Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record, including attendance; andCurrent Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.Knowledge:The Power Engineers Acts;The ability to work within a team in establishing “best practices” within budgetary constraints; andSafe and proper methods of operating/maintaining and repairing structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems in a large facility.This position is designated bilingual (French/English).All staff are hired for the facility.Employees may hold more than one position in different Actionmarguerite facilities, where the sum total of hours does not exceed 1.0 full-time equivalence.
