This is a hybrid role #LI-Hybrid

Are you self motivated and a customer focused problem solver? Reporting to the Senior Manager, Payroll, you will ensure compliance with legislation, the collective agreement, ESA and company policies. You will provide quantitative and qualitative analysis while providing support to the department and other business partners. You will also be involved in projects and daily routines.

About the Role

  • Lead/Assist projects that includes the planning and testing of all system changes (CRA, Service Canada, Collective Bargaining Agreement, new releases, new requirements).
  • Provide requested data to internal business partners including reporting, budgeting, and collective bargaining.
  • Troubleshoot payroll issues effectively, identify and recommend changes to maximize system capabilities to reduce manual processes to improve data management and increase the efficiency of the Payroll operations.
  • Compare, analyze and manage complex data using spreadsheets and queries.
  • Maintain Business Continuity Plan enabling payroll to a continue to pay employees when operations are interrupted by unexpected events.
  • Prepare in-depth analysis and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Payroll team.
  • Contribute your expertise to daily operations, utilizing your strong analytical skills to support seamless payroll functions ensuring accurate and timely pay processing.
  • Produce bi-weekly payroll and integrations to ensure jobs have been successfully run and balanced.
  • Other tasks as required.
About You
  • Post-secondary education in payroll, business, or human resources, and/or equivalent working experience. Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) preferred.
  • Experience with complex analysis methodology and financial processes/concepts and legislation to provide in-depth analysis and to make recommendations.
  • Experience with Workday HCM: Payroll (Canada) and strong proficiency in MS Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to handle many tasks and competing priorities with proficiency to employ financial analysis, reporting techniques and always be best in class.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with proven track record to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change and build and sustain business relationships.
  • A fast-paced self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results under tight timelines.
