This position is on the forefront of key wireless technologies including 5GNR and ORAN. Key stakeholders this position interacts with daily include: customer test engineers, VIAVI product management, development engineers, and the sales team.Travel may be required for customer support and internal VIAVI meetings up to 50% of the time typically it is less than this.Duties & Responsibilities: Main Responsibilities: Provide on-site and remote technical support to VIAVI Solutions TM500 Canada and North America clients Log, investigate, and resolve customer issues related to VIAVI Solutions test and emulation equipment Deliver technical training to local customers on the TM500 product family both practical sessions and producing slide decks for customer use Support the VIAVI Solutions engineering division with the delivery and implementation of new software releases Communicate regular feedback to key stakeholders during internal meetings and meetings between VIAVI Solutions and our clients Collect technical requirements from customers and share with the product development team for future product enhancements Conduct technical demonstrations to both existing and new customers on TM500 products and features Undertake basic hardware tasks and repairs across the TM500 product family Build and maintain close relationships with key customers Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements: Role specific skills required: Knowledge of key wireless specifications including 3GPP and ORAN Thorough understanding of 3GPP Uu air interface including RF transmission and reception, digital modulation and demodulation schemes, PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC access stratum layers and non-access stratum layers. Experience with IP applications including TCP, UDP, FTP, VoLTE, VoIP, etc… Strong communications skills to present information in a clear manner to internal and customer team members. Experience using log files to troubleshoot wireless system faults to resolution The role requires the person to be a self-starter, self-motivated and flexible, with a record of problem solving. Qualifications : Bachelor’s level degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline Minimum 3 years of experience with LTE / 5GNR or other wireless technology Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English If you have what it takes to push boundaries and seize opportunities, apply to join our team today.
