Job Description

Our client has immediate opportunities for Weld Manufacturing Engineer to join their team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Determines the process and methods required for new program parts
  • Create PFEMA’s and Process Flowcharts
  • Create Process Books (includes Draft Op Instruction, Pkg Instruction, BOM Sheet)
  • Participates in cross functional APQP meetings, providing due dates for various tasks appliable to Corporate Manufacturing Engineering from start of program to launch.
  • Create conceptual layouts for facility (plant) and work cells
  • Liaison with Customers on Packaging Requirements
  • Perform cost analysis on packaging requirements.
  • Review capacity and floorspace requirements for all facilities on new model programs
  • Create / Update Production Routings in CMS (Applicable to facilities to have CMS System)

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mechanical design in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of materials and manufacturing processes (metal forming, welding, e-coat)
  • Practical knowledge of GD&T with the capacity to communicate requirements
  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Design & Analysis
