Job DescriptionBeck Glass Insurance is the fastest growing insurance company in BC, specializing exclusively in the insurance coverage of residential, commercial and strata owned glass surfaces.We’re currently seeking a Web Developer to join our team. We are looking for someone who wants to make an impact on their peers, the product, and our customers.As our in-house developer, you will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress and Java based themes and custom plugins. We are expecting you to have a strong understanding of latest industry trends and content management systems.Duties and Responsibilities:Designing and implementing new features and functionalityBuild new WordPress pages from provided designs in a timely mannerBuild WordPress plugins as needed by customersDevelop custom WordPress themes and functionalities with PHPMaintain, update and troubleshoot WordPress websitesDesign database objects as necessary to application specificationsWork independently to create/verify project scopes and provide web development timelines.Carry out assignments with ability to successfully work under pressure and meet deadlines.Visa Sponsorship included:YesRequirements and Qualifications–At least 4 years of experience working with WordPress–At least 4 years of experience with JavaScript, HTML 5 and CSS 3–WordPress expertise, including plugins and 3rd party marketplace, with demonstrated experience in custom theme development and management of core and custom modules.–Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, j Query–Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications–Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.–Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers–Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wire frames into working HTML pages–Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)–Proficient understanding of code versioning tools {{such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial}}–Strong understanding of PHP back-end developmentJob Type: Full-time, PermanentNumber of position: 1Benefits:Competitive Salary and Benefits based on Experience and Qualification#J-18808-Ljbffr
