Job title: Web Designer (Intermediate)Location: Calgary, AlbertaContract length: 01 yearStart date: AsapSchedule: Mon-Fri (40 hours/week) HybridDescription:Our client is a major North American energy company based in Calgary, Alberta - Canada, that develops and operates natural gas pipelines, storage facilities and power-generation plants, with focus on renewable energy sources.Responsibilities:Under the direction of the Manager, Brand, Web & Creative, the successful candidate will:• Design and build engaging, mobile-responsive website layouts and user interfaces that provide an optimal user experience• Collaborate with other teams to translate ideas and concepts into cohesive and functional web experiences• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas and solutions• Ensure designs adhere to best practices in web usability, accessibility, and cross-browser/device compatibility• Optimize web pages for performance, speed, and search engine visibility• Participate in client presentations and design reviews to gather feedback and incorporate iterations• Assist in the maintenance and updates of existing client websites as needed• Stay up-to-date with the latest web design trends, technologies, and industry standardsMinimum Qualifications:• A strong portfolio that clearly demonstrates the necessary skills for the role• 3-5 years of professional experience as a Web Designer or UI/UX Designer• Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for responsive web design• Expertise in using design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) and Figma• Strong understanding of web design principles, user experience best practices, and cross-browser compatibility• Extensive experience with content management systems (Optimizely, Webflow, SiteCore and/or Adobe Experience Manager preferred)• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional teamPreferred Qualifications:• Experience with animation and motion design for the web• Familiarity with web development frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js• Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and guidelinesApply here or send your resume to globalrecruitment@nesfircroft.com directly to apply.
