About the Opportunity
The District of Lake Country has an exciting opportunity for a Water Quality Assistant Student based in Lake Country, BC.

The Water Quality Assistant Student will be asked to complete a wide range of tasks in support of the Water Quality and utilities crew.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited:

  • collection of bacteriological and water samples, analyzing for water chemistry, calibration
  • maintenance of on-line water quality monitoring equipment.
  • Other tasks include maintaining accurate records of all work performed and data collection using Excel and Word to manage field data, update reports, and generate spreadsheets and graphs


Training will be provided before any staff is asked to complete a task or operate a piece of equipment.

More About You
To qualify for this role, you must possess a Valid Driver’s License. Steel toe boots are required. First aid ticket would be considered an asset. Preference will be given to candidates enrolled in either Water Quality Technology programs or other science related field.

As our ideal candidate, you are self-reliant with the ability to work independently at times, as well as the ability to work within a regulated protocol environment, following rules and regulations.
