Your Role
We are currently looking for a Warehouse Team Lead to support our Contract Logistics business located in Mississauga, ON.
The position is fully responsible for the safe, high quality, and productive delivery of 3PL logistics services to our internal and
external customers. The shift will be afternoon shift from 3-11pm.
Your Responsibilities
Delegate tasks to warehouse employees
Train new hires and casual labourers
Act as a liaison between your manager and
front line employees
Establish team priorities and complete
multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Warehouse
Person tasks include, but are not limited to:
Follow standard
warehouse practices and work instructions required to maintain high levels of
inventory and location accuracy. Documents and identifies all discrepancies
to the warehouse supervisor
Accurately
complete routine documentation, such as pick sheets, manifests, and unload
lists
Perform a
variety of physically demanding general labor duties according to standard
work instructions, such as manually loading and unloading goods from a
trailer
Capable of
heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
Capable of repetitive
work including bending, twisting and reaching, following safety procedures
Demonstrates
accuracy and efficiency in the execution of standard warehousing processes
such as receiving, picking, packing, shipping, checking and loading customer
orders and products
Participates in
process-specific training

Your Skills and Experiences
2+ years'
experience working in a Warehouse/Distribution Centre
Direct
experience with distribution centre processes (receiving, picking, packing,
shipping, returns, value added processing and sub-assembly)
Valid material
handling equipment (MHE) license for MHE used on the account
Strong
understanding of warehouse operations and cost structures
Intermediate
knowledge of the Warehouse Management System and proficient computer skills
and in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong written
and verbal communication skills
Strong customer
orientation and problem solving abilities
Ability to
handle multiple priorities and capability to work independently and make
decisions with minimum supervision based on internal and external customer
requirements
Time management
skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
Proven ability
to delegate tasks and prioritize work
Availability to
work periodic overtime and a variety of shifts in order to meet the
requirements of the operation
Knowledge of
and compliance with health and safety standards
Experience in
leading teams will be considered an asset
