Position Summary:

The Warehouse Manager supervises the activities of employees and engages in shipping, receiving, storing, and testing materials and products. This individual is responsible for safety development along with implementing security and safety programs. They issue job assignments, review work orders, invoices, and confirm reports and monitor the distribution of materials or products.

Job Responsibilities:

The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.   • At least 5 years of proven warehouse supervisory experience and the ability to effectively manage a staff of 20+ employees
  • Should possess a general concept of engineering processes, familiarity with warehouse equipment, and an intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage warehouse staff and directly oversee all shifts by dividing/balancing time across multiple shifts and having the flexibility to work off-shift hours, including nights and/or weekends
  • Ability to effectively conduct job performance reviews, recommend performance improvement plans where necessary, and ability to establish and communicate department goals, objectives, and processes with employees
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure, possessing an exceptional sense of urgency
  • Ability to follow involved instructions, troubleshoot issues, schedule, organize, coordinate, train, and prepare operating procedures with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HACCP Certified

Communication and Comprehension

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write grammatically correct English in order to convey messages and correspond articulately and professionally.
  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Must be proficient in math, percentages, and Excel.

Problem-Solving

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write grammatically correct English to convey messages and correspond articulately and professionally.
  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Richmond Wholesale to a variety of business, government, and community customers and associates.
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and have consistent and disciplined follow-through.

  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • Must be able to work under stress, presenting a calm professional demeanor at all times.

Physical and Sensory Abilities

  • Required to travel locally and outside the local area.
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak to communicate orally effectively.
  • Required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the facilities.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop to conduct business

WORKING CONDITIONS

The work environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.

Driving Requirements

Use of one’s personal vehicle (or Richmond Wholesale vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid California driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
