Wall Panel DesignerEstablished in 1977, ALLIANCE TRUSS LTD has over 40 years of experience operating as a building component manufacturer in the light construction industry. We are the most diverse and dynamic of all our peers and have four locations in the lower mainland that allow us to help service our clients.We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven individual to join our team as a Wall Panel Designer in our Mission office in British Columbia. Successful candidates will enjoy working with a team of solid industry professionals creating solutions for a wide variety of wood frame projects from single-family dwellings to large-scale multi-family complexes using CAD software created specifically for our industry. Onsite training in using the Mitek software suite and wood frame construction standards will be provided. If you have a keen interest in design, a talent for creative solutions, and exceptional interpersonal skills, we want to hear from you.Responsibilities:Read, analyze, and transfer information received from the Sales Department into various MiTek or other design programs to produce truss layouts and engineered drawings for simple residential, commercial, or farm projectsMeet design volume targets efficiently and accuratelyOccasionally assist in Plan Swift materials take-offsMaintain a positive relationship with all staff using good communication skillsAttention to detail and commitmentRespond to inquiries from Sales Reps, Building Officials, and customers to resolve any design concernsProvide detailed layout information to DraftspersonQualifications:Manufacturing technology, especially related to wood, truss, and building manufacturingAbility to accurately read and interpret blueprintsKnowledge in the use of drafting softwareComputer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, and ExcelStrong mathematical skills with a high degree of accuracyCapability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentExcellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.Preference to Structural Engineering/Architectural Building and technology Diploma or equivalentsWe value our employees and offer a comprehensive compensation plan including a competitive salary and benefits package consisting of Life Insurance, Health, Dental, Short Term, Long-Term Disability, Employee Assistance Program, Health Spending Account, and a Pension Plan.
