We look forward to receiving your application.PartnerRe is an equal opportunities employer.Please join our company LinkedIn Pagefor all updates on new positions that are coming live.Job DescriptionAbout this job:This position will report directly to the North America P&C SVP, Head of Canada, and Chief Agent of Partner Reinsurance of the U.S. Canada BranchAbout the role:The Vice President, Treaty Underwriter will have an important role in developing, underwriting, and servicing the Property & Casualty portfolio in accordance with the underwriting strategy for the Branch.The individual will have the following responsibilities:Underwrite and manage a profitable book in the target growth areas of Property & Casualty business. This will include conducting extensive review and analysis of submissions, contract wordings and thorough analysis of the primary operations, products, and management teams.Work in close collaboration with the P&C NA Underwriters, Pricing Actuaries, Catastrophe Modeling team, Claims and other Business Units.Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to ensure a continuous flow of business.Contribute to the development of underwriting strategies and initiatives.Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior underwriters.QualificationsAbout you:A university/college degree is required.Industry designations such as CIP or FCIP are preferred.Experience/Skills:A minimum of 10 years of experience in progressively seniorunderwriting roles in the (re)insurance industry.A highly credible (re)insurance underwriter with strong technical skills and deep experience underwriting Property & Casualty Lines.A thorough understanding of the primary market and of policy forms, pricing schemes, and the role and impact of claims, actuarial and finance in the underwriting process. Preferably, this individual will have gained experience as a Primary Commercial Insurance Underwriter.A strong background in Casualty and Professional lines is preferred.A passion to remain on top of emerging issues and the legal landscape.Deep knowledge of the broker market and the capability to identify target business.Strong relationships with brokers and clients.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
