Our client, a leading fraud detection automation technology company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP Engineering (VP Eng) to join their dynamic team. As the VP Eng, you will be responsible for managing the company's technological infrastructure and development, as well as leading the engineering teams to support this. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing products and services by upgrading technologies, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring the success of products in the market.•
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading and managing engineering teams to drive innovation, efficiency, and productivity.
- Developing and implementing foundational frameworks and processes to align the company's technological infrastructure with its goals.
- Leading the Company’s technology requirements for Information Security (SOC2) adherence, and be a leading voice in creating a strong Information Security culture
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective delivery of new products and features.
- Anticipating and addressing technology challenges by developing comprehensive plans.
- Liaising between customers and the business to gather information on the target market.
- Conducting in-depth technical analysis and research to drive informed decision-making.
- Building and fostering an environment that promotes talent, innovation, and effective development strategies.
- Translating complex technical matters into understandable language for stakeholders and non-technical staff.

Must Have Skills:
What You've Done:
- Minimum 5 years as VP Engineering or Head of Engineering, with start-up experience preferred
- Led technology teams in their day-to-day operations, supervising engineering teams, and setting performance goals.
- Collaborated with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to evaluate the Information Security posture, implement required infrastructure and controls, and ensure ongoing monitoring and changes.
- Conducted technical reviews of products and solutions to evaluate their applicability.
- Monitored the management of hardware and software licenses and projected future needs.
- Developed, tracked, and controlled the development of annual capital and operating budgets for purchasing tools and staffing.
- Managed and optimized infrastructure assets to meet internal financial targets.
- Worked closely with business and product teams to deliver new and enhanced products and features.
- Tracked, analyzed, and monitored technological performance metrics.
You’ll Preferably Have:
- Proficiency in developing REST APIs.
- Software development expertise in Node.js, HTML5, Tailwind CSS, JavaScript, and React.
- Experience with tools such as Heroku, Docker, GitHub, Jira, MongoDB, and jQuery.
- Strong grasp of the AWS platform including EC2 and CloudFormation
- Understanding of Pub/Sub architecture, async polling and Message Brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka, ActiveMQ, etc.,)
- Experience working within a SOC 2 compliant environment
