Employment opportunityOffice: NDP Research OfficePosition: Video Editor – Permanent, Part-Time Position (15 hours/week)Location: Parliamentary Office, Ottawa, OntarioJagmeet Singh and the NDP Digital Team are looking for a Video Editor to assist the digital team in creating original content for Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and other digital platforms.The Video Editor role requires proficiency with Adobe Premiere and/or similar editing software including CapCut, strong video editing skills, experience with social media platforms, a passion for economic justice, strong collaboration and communication skills, and a high level of self-sufficiency – paying close attention to details and deadlines.Responsibilities: Collaborate with the digital director, creative coordinator, digital communications officer, and on occasion external vendors to create dynamic digital content inclusive of vertical videoParticipate in meetings and collaborate with other team members to conceptualize, clip, produce, edit and/or finalize videosCapture, source, and/or animate additional images, video, and assets for B-roll as neededSelect appropriate music and sound effects and report appropriate music usageShoot video content in studio and on locationArchive and organize projects to streamline productionsMeet video team’s publishing schedulesOperate in a nimble, fast-paced environmentOther duties as requiredQualifications:Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, experience with After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, CapCut and related appsDemonstrated strategic political judgment and existing knowledge of contemporary Canadian politics and current affairsWillingness to work long and irregular hours in a busy, deadline-driven environmentA self-starter who pays close attention to detail and is highly organized, capable of managing competing requests and meeting tight deadlinesStrong interpersonal, communication and organizational skillsStudio and location lighting experience is an assetPhotography experience is an assetBilingualism is an assetPlease include 3 professional references and samples of your editing, animation, and cinematography work with your application.
