ABOUT THE ROLE

The Vice President of Finance will play a crucial role in shaping the financial direction of October’s Very Own Merchandising, overseeing all aspects of financial planning, analysis, reporting, and strategy. Reporting directly to the CFO/COO, the VP of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership, guidance, and support to ensure the long-term financial health and success of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate and analyze financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks, providing insights and recommendations to optimize financial outcomes.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal stakeholders, executive management, and the Board of Directors.
  • Conduct regular financial reviews and variance analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Treasury Management:

  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize financial efficiency and stability.
  • Develop and implement strategies for cash forecasting, investment, and risk management.
  • Oversee banking relationships, debt financing, and capital structure initiatives.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets.
  • Coordinate audits and examinations by external auditors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, building a high-performing finance organization capable of supporting the company's strategic objectives.
