Job Description

Our client is a prominent organization with a diverse portfolio of restaurants, they have engaged us to find an experienced Vice President of Construction to join their highly talents leadership team.
  • Provide strategic leadership for new builds, renovations, and upgrade projects, ensuring fiscal responsibility and upholding brand integrity.
  • Oversee all aspects of project management including budget feasibility, schedule adherence, design coordination, contract negotiations, procurement, risk assessment, and value engineering.
  • Ensure timely project completion within budget constraints, managing capital budgets and fostering interdepartmental communication.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among team members.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business units to achieve project objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team, overseeing recruitment, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Interface with Executive Management and Legal Counsel as necessary, overseeing contract negotiations and enforcing milestone dates and obligations.
  • Manage negotiations with municipalities and relevant authorities, coordinating permit applications.
  • Cultivate relationships with development partners.
  • Develop overall development budgets in collaboration with the Executive team, presenting for approval by senior leadership.
  • Assist in the development of design programs for new developments in alignment with organizational goals.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in commercial construction leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in construction and business software.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and project management skills.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and administration.
  • Ability to exert personal leadership through influence.
  • Proven track record in building successful partnerships and engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of investment and finance principles.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and team collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel across Canada.
  • Self-motivated with experience managing complex projects autonomously.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction, both in renovations and new builds.
  • Previous site management experience.
