The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products. Summary: Responsible for the growth, operational and financial performance of an engineering and manufacturing business unit where client needs can be complex and time sensitive. Main responsibilities: Increase management's effectiveness by communicating values, strategies, and objectives. Set companywide objectives, assign accountabilities, plan, monitor, and evaluate performance while tracking results. Foster a Continuous Improvement environment throughout the organization Develop a strategic plan by studying technological and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives. Accomplish corporate objectives by establishing budgets; allocate resources, review progress and make mid-course corrections as required Present performance at weekly Ops call through weekly soft close process, reviewing sales, variances, margins, profit, working capital and headcount. Present actions when missing plan. Monitor the operating and financial results against plans and budgets and review with Dometic Marine management monthly Implement contingencies and report up when objectives are not being met. Develop strategic operating plans that reflect the longer-term objectives and priorities established by the President. Coordinate efforts by establishing procurement, production, marketing, field and technical services policies and practices. Facilitate Engineering Objectives and New Product pipeline, communicate company wide. Ensure operations functions and executes its tasks within defined quality, safety, environmental, and social responsibilities and accountabilities. Drive accountability for operating objectives and ensure standards of performance are not only understood, but owned by management and all employees. Build the company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices. Develop and maintain relationships with strategic, current and prospective customers as well as key suppliers. Maintain quality services by establishing and enforcing organizational standards. Complete additional job duties and assignments up to 15% of the time. RequirementsQualifications and experience: An undergraduate degree in Engineering, Operations or Finance is required; Master’s degree is an asset. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of engineering and manufacturing in a management role. Experience with Product Development and Product Management functions A Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior management position with P&L responsibilities. Experience implementing and improving plant safety (EHS) Experience in the development of annual and long-range operational plans and budget management are necessary; must have strong financial acumen. Behavioral requirements: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Is fact based, hands-on and solicits broad input but makes rapid, sound decisions. Strong understanding of Manufacturing and Engineering processes. Ability to see Market change and progression and relate it back to the success of the business. Strong ability to provide business leadership with regards to changing technology and customer base. Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks. Strong proficiency with MS Office programs including: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint; and, the ability to learn other applications quickly. Excellent execution and performance management skills. Is results-driven. Strategically leads the team to develop and deliver common, aggressive goals and associated metrics. Provides leadership and staff motivation to align team with common goals. Holds the team accountable. Strong communication, relationship building and influencing skills. Develops credibility and trust with the senior executive team and can work/interact effectively with individuals throughout the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to work well independently and lead a strong team.
