Our Nuclear Canada business is experiencing significant growth, driven partly by planned Life Extension projects by our International CANDU clients. The Cernavoda Unit 1 Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) project is a major endeavour, aiming to extend the NPP's operation successfully for an additional 30 years.

The Vendor Management Project Manager will report to the Project Director, Cernavoda 1 Refurbishment Tooling. As a crucial member of the C1 execution team, you will work within the C1 project team to ensure timely and efficient integration of procurement activities with engineering, quality, and commercial support functions. This involves close coordination with tooling vendors, internal CANDU stakeholders, and the end customer SNN.

Location – Mississauga, ON

Your role within the team:

  • Accountability for all tooling supply aspects of the project.
  • Leading project team members from various support departments.
  • Contract management including scope & change control, requirements management, subcontractor and supplier management.
  • Implementation of project controls methodology.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients, partners, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Providing feedback and effective recommendations into functional performance review processes.
  • Decision-making on resourcing requirements, human resource issues, and project bids.
  • Supporting the proposal process for new work.
  • Demonstrates initiative, decisiveness, and effective communication.
  • Plans and communicates effectively.
  • Possesses excellent judgment and performs well under stress.
  • Commits to Safety, Integrity, and Trust.

The ideal candidate:

  • 10+ years’ experience leading (or supporting) various types of projects.
  • Industry or related vendor management experience preferred.
  • Understanding of nuclear supply chain and materials management principles.
  • Proven ability to coordinate engineering, commercial/legal, and quality functions.
  • Excellent communication, customer relationship, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with project delivery methodology and industrial safety standards.
  • BSc in Engineering or equivalent is an asset.
