Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director of Product & Business Development, the Vendor Business Manager will be accountable for all aspects of Vendor Management, including product roadmap, pricing strategy, and market intelligence. The successful candidate will have industry experience managing high-profile vendor relationships and will use their expertise to oversee all aspects of the product lifecycle from item launch to EOL status. This role acts as the primary point of contact at Drexel for this suite of vendors.

Accountabilities:

  • Ownership and management of a suite of vendors in specified categories (Fitness, Outdoor Sports, Home Goods, Wireless Accessories, etc.)
  • Vendor SKU Management – Design, develop, and manage activities from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life.
  • Vendor Product Roadmap Ownership and Product Strategy
  • Marketing – Manage vendor marketing assets, images, content, and facilitate the creation of sales presentations for the channel.
  • Vendor P&L Ownership and Vendor Profitability Ownership

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for onboarding new resellers into the Drexel Vendor program.
  • Work with the Drexel Sales team to drive revenue growth and expand product mix and customer share within the accounts.
  • Educate and promote vendor programs, provide sales support, and assist in closing opportunities.
  • Represent or accompany the vendor at customer functions, roadshows, and trainings.
  • Use company standard policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Act as a liaison between vendors and the Drexel organization.
  • Provide specialized consultative services and implement, drive, and maintain vendor programs, marketing, and training.
  • Maintain a complete understanding of vendor contract terms and ensure full compliance.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding day-to-day matters.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and monitor vendor performance.
  • Roadmap planning: Create and manage a 12-month rolling product roadmap based on seasonal opportunities and customer opportunities, as well as managing vendor MAP activities.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience in managing strategic supplier relationships and contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook as well as strong overall PC skills.
  • Strong collaboration and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and handle stressful situations.
  • Capacity to get things done at short notice while collecting information from a variety of internal and external sources.
  • Ability to express ideas with confidence and clarity, and well-practiced presentation skills to deliver both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of industry trends and market conditions.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work as both a team player as well independently.
  • Confidently represent Drexel with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to travel upon request (up to 10%). This position may require working in evenings, weekends, or occasional holidays.

Starting Pay Range
$65000 - $75000 per annum
