As an Underwriting Analyst, while you’re crunching numbers, you'll be shaping the future of the CINUP benefits plan. Your analysis and interpretation of financial information to create new business quotations also puts you at the forefront of innovation. But that's only the beginning While applying your underwriting expertise in annual block renewal activities, which consists of over 10,000 members, you'll delve into historical claims experience and analyze demographic shifts to determine pricing changes and craft transparent client renewal reports. Quarterly experience reports will also be your canvas for written analysis and distribution, showcasing your highly valued insights. What does it take to join our team? A minimum of 2 years of experience in group insurance underwriting will set the foundation. Pair that with post-secondary education or equivalent experience and you’re well on your way. A sound understanding of pricing methods, comprehensive knowledge of group insurance products, and a proficiency in data compilation will set you apart. What other competencies are we looking for? Your ability to navigate Microsoft Excel and Word with ease, coupled with your knack for decision-making and teamwork, will make you an invaluable asset. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience in group insurance underwriting Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience Sound knowledge in the pricing of both manual and experience-rated benefits Understanding of various financial arrangements, including non-refund, refund, and self-insured Comprehensive knowledge of group insurance products Strong ability to compile data, analyze it, and apply it in practice Excellent accuracy and attention to detail Creative problem-solving skills Effective organizational and document management skills Clear and well-developed communication skills (oral and written) Strong decision-making skills Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Ability to work independently and as part of a team Completion of GBA/CEBS courses would be considered an asset
