Salary Range: $80,000.00 To 120,000.00 Annually

About the Role - UI / UX Designer

Terra Insights is looking for a UI/UX Designer to lead the design of a new web platform to join our innovative team. Position Dimensions

  • Hybrid work schedule - 3 days in Vancouver office, 2 days remote.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze the current native platform to identify usability and functionality improvements.
  • Design and prototype new features for the web-based platform that enhance user interaction and experience.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to define and implement innovative solutions.
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
  • Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends.
  • Lead the development of the UI/UX function within a team new to formalized design processes, setting foundational practices and educating team members on the importance of design thinking.
  • Serve as a primary advocate for user experience, championing user-centered design practices across all stages of the project.
  • Other additional duties as required

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5+ years experience in UI/UX design experience with a strong portfolio (include links to your work).
  • Proficiency in standard UX software such as Figma, Adobe XD, Miro or similar.
  • Ability to work with clients and internal stakeholders to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision.
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystems, and usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.
  • A clear understanding of the importance of user-centered design and design thinking.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Location:

This is a hybrid location-based role with the office located in Vancouver, British Columbia. Anticipating three days in office with 2 days remote. We offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience and a full benefits package.
