Job Description

Compensation Information:
$22.70-38.00 per hour

Physical Requirement:
Medium, work activities involve handling loads between 10 and 20 kg; Predominately in an outdoor setting.
This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Accountabilities:

  • Operate according to the code of conduct and values statement of Sun Peaks Resort LLP and the Snow Sports School and direct and specific product marketing to guests.
  • Guest product satisfaction, including recovery tactics and communications.
  • Special events management as required.
  • Coordinate and support staff, including staff scheduling, direction, and application, auditing paid activities, injury management, RTW administration and tracking, database management.
  • Coordinate daily lesson demand against staff inventories to maximize utilization and maintain product and program quality. Manage staff time off requests to continuously ensure adequate inventory volumes.
  • Teaching duties relative to certification and experience (group lessons, all ages of private lessons, and special programs).
  • Any other duties as necessary for the successful operation of the sports school departments.
  • Attend all SPR LLP scheduled orientation and training programs as requested.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Professional and current Level 4 teaching certification with a nationally recognized organization (CSIA, CASI, BASI, APSI, or National equivalency).
  • Dual or multi snow sport certification, i.e., CSIA and CASI.
  • Several seasons of experience as a supervisor with a sports school.
  • Proficient use of spoken and written English.
  • Polished interpersonal and motivational skills and highly organized.
  • Proven track record in tourism guest services as a team player.
  • Legally able to work in Canada from November 2024 until April 2025.
  • Willing to submit to an RCMP criminal record check.
  • Undertake required daily duties as per all SPR LLP operating guidelines.
  • Comply with the Alpine Responsibility Code and Employment Standards.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft and POS systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of staff and sales database management and administration.
  • Physically able to undertake responsibilities pertinent to your certification level and discipline safely and diligently.
  • Able to sit or stand for periods, i.e., keyboard work.
  • Able to work outside in all winter weather conditions.
  • High degree of physical fitness.
  • Free of injuries that may obstruct daily duties.
  • Extended sales training and experience is an asset.
  • Several seasons’ previous Snowsports teaching experience.
  • Post-secondary education in business, H.R, accounting, risk assessment or organizational behaviour.
  • Knowledge of employment standards, accident investigation, supervisors’ responsibilities.
