Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, the Procurement Supervisor is responsible for procurement activities and the performance of a team of Procurement Administrators, Coordinators, and/or Specialists. The Procurement Supervisor will coordinate the efforts of the team to make certain forecasts and product positioning plans are executed with timely ordering, order processing, etc. based on Product Strategy and customer service expectations. The position will ensure that procurement processes are effective and adhered to by all staff. The Procurement Supervisor will measure performance against expectations, adjust planning to meet business needs, and provide continuous improvement suggestions to key stakeholders to exceed business targets. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Provide guidance and support to the Procurement team to meet key operational objectives by supplying problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking solutions. Liaison with key internal stakeholders (Product Strategy Managers, Distribution, Site Operations, Logistics) to meet procurement requirements. Organize and track Seasonal Plans prepared by the Procurement team in support of Product Strategy Managers business plans. Maintain pro-active communication with all Agribusiness sites regarding UFA procurement issues with product or order fulfillment. Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPI) and utilize KPIs to ensure objectives are achieved and all continuous improvement opportunities are recognized. i.e.: Fill Rate, Budget, In-stock. Drive process adherence to policies and procedures with a focus on continuous improvement to drive towards systematic replenishment. Analyze the performance of procurement processes to ensure product availability while managing inventory and freight costs and reducing/eliminating aged and excess inventory throughout the network. Procurement related activities to effectively manage a portfolio, including creating PO’s, PO management and resolving invoice discrepancies. Other duties as requested. Qualifications required for the position: Post-secondary degree, diploma, and/or professional designation(s) specific to supply chain management, procurement, and/or logistics. More than 7 years’ experience with minimum 1 - 2 years direct leadership experience in a customer service centric environment. Agricultural background is an asset. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft D365 and Power BI considered an asset. Strong analytical knowledge and ability to extract, format, and analyze information considered an asset. Extensive experience in process management and utilizing a continuous improvement philosophy to business processes.
