Our staff provide knowledge and expertise to our clients as they seek unique, creative, sustainable procurement solutions for complex business needs. We oversee the Nova Scotia Sustainable Procurement Policy and manage the high value procurement process for government departments as well as the Nova Scotia Health Authority. We guide agencies, boards, and commissions as well as the greater public sector including municipalities, academic institutions, and schools in their procurement efforts. We provide outreach and education to our supplier community, encouraging them to become part of the public procurement equation. We also deliver sustainable procurement education to our internal client departments as well as public sector entities.About Our Opportunity The Training Coordinator will report to the Manager, Procurement Engagement, and will be responsible for leading the development of a Procurement training plan and coordinating the delivery of the plan to all stakeholders engaged in the procurement process. This includes new and existing employees of SNS Procurement, client organizations, public sector entities as well as the supplier community.   They will provide guidance on the development and standardization of training materials and coordinate policy and/or process updates to these materials, internal communication sites and external websites.Primary Accountabilities The Training Coordinator will: Lead the organization, coordination, administration, implementation, and monitoring of the Branch training plan. Lead annual training needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps of new and existing Procurement staff, internal and external stakeholders.Ensure training goals are met in an efficient and fiscally responsible manner by completing fiscal reviews and report updates on the approved training plan and budget.  Update and adjust the training plan throughout the year, identify and incorporate new training trends and requirements and adapt the plan as required. Negotiate collaborative partnership arrangements for new training initiatives with other stakeholders with similar training goals and with a view to achieving cost efficiency.Chair a Procurement Training Committee, coordinate strategic outreach initiatives and teams that deliver general and/or specialized procurement and business system education. Collaborate with hiring managers to coordinate orientation training for new employees.Use knowledge of best practices in adult learning to provide guidance on the development of standard training materials to ensure consistency across the Branch.Collaborate with management and training delivery team within Procurement on a regular basis to support internal and external communication of training initiatives. Qualifications and Experience This may be the right opportunity if you have a bachelor’s degree along with several years of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of and experience with adult instructional design and delivery would be considered an asset.  You have confidence in your knowledge, professional judgement, and ability to problem-solve complex issues in a collaborative and responsive manner. You will also possess exceptional interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to establish genuine and collaborative relationships with colleagues and staff within the organization and externally with other public sector entities and government stakeholders. You have experience providing advice and developing recommendations to senior leadership, including the preparation of information and briefing notes, data and written reports, and presentations. You are a demonstrated leader, team player, and independent thinker with the ability to coordinate and lead project teams. You are well organized, capable of prioritizing and delegating high level work under tight timelines and you exercise sound judgement under pressure. You have high proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint), LMS, SAP and Ariba as well as knowledge of and experience with creative design, video editing and recording software such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Camtasia, Articulate and SnagIt. We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.Equivalency An equivalent combination of training, education and experience will be considered.
