Town of Coaldale | Corporate Services Manager | Mat LeaveReporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Corporate Services Manager will provide a diverse range of financial accounting services to, and oversight of, the Town’s Corporate Services Department, as well participate in various inter-department projects that may arise from time to time.Term position ranging between 12 and 15 monthsABOUT COALDALEThe Town of Coaldale is an emerging community located in the heart of southern Alberta. With a variety of recreational facilities and a diversity of amenities and tourist attractions, our municipality combines the benefits of small town living with the service provision of larger urban centres.JOB DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESConduct and administer payroll for the Town including remuneration, benefits, pension, employee investments (group RRSP), health spending account.Reporting to various payroll, benefit, and pension agencies as required.Ensure all payroll activities are within applicable statues, regulations, policies, contracts, guidelines, union agreements or legislation.Prepare T4’s and reconcile annually.Maintenance of employee records.Set up new hires, process employee terminations and ROEs.Oversee the Town’s disability management program including short-term disability (STD) and long-term disability (LTD).Provide support and recommendations to the CFO, with respect to fiscal planning, management and strategic financial services including design, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and services.Assistance with the Town’s annual Operating Budget.Oversee facilitating of the MasterCard reconciliation process for all Town credit cards.Research, recommend and implement continuous improvements to contracts, systems, procedures and reporting.Work with Chief Financial Officer to compile information for financial audits.Oversee customer service requests and customer service standards and procedures.Provide leadership and direction to Corporate Services team, including coaching, mentorship, skill development and departmental strategic planning.Oversee accounts payable / receivable process and identify organizational efficiencies.Support the Chief Financial Officer as required or necessary.RequirementsUniversity degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.Relevant professional accreditation is preferred.Progressive supervisory experienceAble to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirementsCapable of maintaining a high level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office; specifically MS Excel, Word and Outlook#J-18808-Ljbffr
