The Role:

Reporting to the VP, Security and Smart Technologies, you will be responsible for managing the deployment and implementation of physical security solutions that safeguard our client’s physical assets, employees, and visitors. This position requires a deep understanding of security technologies, architectural principles, and industry best practices to create effective physical security systems that mitigate risks and ensure a safe environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage deployment activities to ensure projects are executed on budget, within scope and schedule.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess technical security needs and develop (or review) comprehensive physical security designs and their associated architecture.
  • Create (or review) detailed technical specifications and plans for access control systems, surveillance cameras, intrusion detection systems, and other security technologies.
  • Conduct site surveys to identify vulnerabilities and recommend security enhancements.
  • Integrate design elements with architectural, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical and other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design solution.
  • Provide guidance and support during the implementation phase to ensure security systems are installed correctly and function as intended.

What you’ll bring:

  • Diploma or degree in a related field such as security systems, electrical engineering, or computer science.
  • Industry certification is an asset (examples include ASIS Board Certified, PSP, CPP)
  • Proven experience in physical security design and implementation, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of access control systems, video surveillance, and intrusion detection technologies.
  • Proficiency in security design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, security system modeling software).
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASIS, NFPA, UL).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess security risks and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Previous experience with system deployments in secure environments such as financial institutions, insurance companies etc.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret clearance. Asset: existing Secret clearance.
