There are currently two (2) permanent, full-time positions available in the South Area. Flexible work options are available; these positions may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position, but at a lower classification.

Timber Pricing Coordinator

$77,718.46 – $99,452.15 annually

The Ministry of Forests delivers holistic resource management services for British Columbians and manages specified Crown land and resources.

The Timber Pricing Coordinator supervises appraisal staff and directs and monitors the timber pricing activities in the South Area.

This role is responsible for developing and implementing regional appraisal procedures and guidelines, ensuring adherence to appraisal policies, reviewing and resolving appraisal disputes, acting as senior resource person for appraisal issues, preparing reports, analysis and recommendations, communicating with clients and making stumpage rate determinations.

Qualifications for this role include:

• Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a Registered Professional Forester with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC).

• Degree in the natural resource field or equivalent as recognized by the Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC).

• Experience identifying linkages in issue, determining cause and effect and providing sound advice to statutory decision makers.

• Experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.

• Experience working with key statutes and policies that support natural resource management.

• Experience in consulting with partners and stakeholders in natural resource management.

• Experience managing concurrent and complex priorities to produce results within restrictive timeframes.

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence, or equivalent.
