Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Director, Information Systems Operations and Cybersecurity, the T3 Cloud Security Analyst will play a major role in planning, implementing, and maintaining Calian’s Cloud stance across our business units. This role will help to execute all aspects cloud support including cyber, network, compute, and operations. The T3 Cloud Security Analyst will have expertise contributing to maintaining a robust and resilient cloud infrastructure, protecting sensitive data, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Additionally, the T3 Cloud Security Analyst provides guidance and support to Calian development teams who are in and investigating operating their developed offerings in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

The T3 Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for Corporate Cyber Program and Operations Support:

1. Azure Security Configuration and Hardening:

  • Review and enhance security configurations for Azure resources (VMs, databases, etc.).
  • Implement security best practices, including network segmentation, access controls, and encryption.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.

2. Security Monitoring and Threat Detection:

  • Ensure Azure logs, alerts, and security events are maintained into Calian’s SIEM to identify potential risks.
  • Utilize Calian’s Cyber Tools for threat detection.
  • Analyze patterns and anomalies to proactively identify security incidents.

3. Identity and Access Management (IAM):

  • Ensure Cloud Environments are integrated into Calian’s IAM to Manage identities, roles, and permissions.
  • Implement least privilege principles and enforce strong authentication mechanisms.
  • Monitor and audit access to Azure resources.

4. Security Automation and Scripting:

  • Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates) for security automation.
  • Automate security tasks such as log analysis, incident response, and policy enforcement.

5. Incident Response and Remediation:

  • Investigate and respond to security incidents related to Azure services promptly.
  • Collaborate with Cyber Analysts to resolve complex security issues.
  • Develop and implement remediation plans to address vulnerabilities and threats.

6. Cloud Compliance and Governance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and industry standards (e.g., CIS benchmarks).
  • Collaborate with cyber, legal and compliance teams to address audit requirements.
  • Maintain documentation related to Azure security controls.

7. Collaboration and Training:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (development, systems, network) to integrate security into the development lifecycle.
  • Provide cloud training and guidance to cyber analysts and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field experience.

• Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-500, AZ-900) are highly desirable.

• Experience with Azure services, including Azure Security Center and Azure Active Directory.

• Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.).

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

• Knowledge of cloud security frameworks (e.g., CSA, NIST, ISO 27001, SOC2).

• Experience with Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships.

• Understanding of the Incident Response Phases.

• Ability to act as a liaison between Development, Infrastructure, Applications teams.

• Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing innovative cloud solutions to complex security and infrastructure environments
