The University of Alberta invites applications for full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty positions in Finance, with anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. We will be recruiting for more than one position.
For an appointment at the assistant professor level, candidates must have graduated from an accredited PhD program in a relevant area, such as finance or economics. Candidates who are close to PhD completion may be considered; however, the appointment will be contingent upon completion of the PhD by an agreed-upon date. Applications must demonstrate an excellent research record or potential for publication in top journals in Finance, along with evidence of teaching excellence. Appointments at a more senior level (Associate or Full Professor) may be considered depending on qualifications and experience, requiring a reputation for high-quality contributions to top Finance journals and evidence of teaching excellence.
Responsibilities include teaching Finance courses in undergraduate and graduate programs, conducting and publishing research in top-tier Finance journals, and contributing to the School's academic activities. The successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in the PhD program's continuing success and development. Proficiency in English is required.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and is competitive with similar research-focused business schools in North America.
