Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our team at JTL Security. As an Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing alarm systems to ensure the safety and security of our clients' properties. Your expertise will play a crucial role in safeguarding homes and businesses against fire, theft, and other hazards.ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, and repair various types of alarm systems.Conduct system tests to ensure functionality and safety.Troubleshoot and resolve issues with alarm systems.Provide excellent customer service and educate clients on system use.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Coordinate with team members and other departments to provide optimal service.QualificationsEducation and Certification:High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in electronic systems, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.Certification from a recognized security system training program is highly beneficial.Experience:Previous experience in security system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Experience working with a variety of security systems, including CCTV, access control systems, and intrusion alarms.Technical Skills:Strong understanding of electronic, network, and mechanical systems relevant to security installations.Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.Familiarity with tools and equipment used in security system installations.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, crawling in tight spaces, and lifting equipment up to 50 pounds.Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.Driving and Legal:Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation.Clean driving record and ability to travel to various job sites.Soft Skills:Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and customer service skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Regulatory Knowledge:Knowledge of Alberta or federal regulations regarding security system installations.Understanding of safety standards and protocols.Availability:Flexibility to work in various shifts, including evenings and weekends, depending on job requirements.
