Our S.E. Calgary client is seeking an eager and self-motivated Technical Writer to join their growing team.

Responsibilities include writing, editing, and maintaining instructions for users of their proprietary software integrations. Along with contributing to the creation and development of internal and external communication material.

The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, exceptional technical and business writing acumen, and the ability to thrive in an independent yet collaborative work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

  • Writing, editing, and maintaining instructions for users of their proprietarysoftware integrations
  • Using ticketing system to organize deliverables and meet deadlines
  • Contributing to the creation and development of internal and external communication material, such as presentations and web pages
  • Establishing detailed processes to ensure existing content remains current, relevant, and useful
  • Supporting in the creation of internal job descriptions for technical roles
  • Other duties as assigned

Education:

  • Post-secondary education in communications, English or a related field

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • A satisfactory criminal record check is required
  • A satisfactory credit check is required
  • Comfortable discussing technical material and procedures with software developers, engineers, and other subject matter experts
  • Strong understanding of software related technical writing
  • Prior experience with PHP (Java), Node.js and React programs (strong asset)

Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ technical writing experience is required
  • Solid writing and editing experience with a focus on clear, concise, and targeted deliverables

Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding time management skills, able to meet deadlines with ease
  • Flexible and adaptable in nature, able to shift priorities at any given time and manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • High attention to detail and organization
  • Self-motivated and curious by nature, not afraid to investigate and ask questions in order to achieve desired results
  • Able to function autonomously as well as in a collaborative environment

Base Salary:$70,000 – 80,000+ per year

  • Salary based on experience
  • Health benefit package provided

Work Hours:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
  • 8:00AM – 4:30PM

Remote Work:

  • This position is not remote and required to be on-site.
