Job Description

Position:The Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) assists the KTI Water Sales organization in the promotion and support of the Sensus metering portfolio for the Canadian water utility market. Position Summary:The TSS position will be overseen and directed by the Senior TSS for the Western Canadian region and will function independently in the field/remote support of technical issues required in all aspects of Automatic Meter Reading (AMR), Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Water Smart Metering. This position requires strong technical and training skills and the ability to apply knowledge and skills to support key personnel at all levels within the utility. General Responsibilities:Act as the main point of contact support resource for Legacy AMR customers in Western CanadaSupport Sales Staff with technical details related to AMR/AMI SalesSet-up/Demonstrate meters, reading equipment, software, interoperabilityDeliver high level or detailed AMR/AMI/Meter presentations effectivelyProduce and deliver material and presentations for high/low level meetingsFacilitate development and approvals of network studies to support sales processProvide detailed documentation on products/services as needed during sales processPresent case studies and market/product information during webinars/conferencesProvide field level support for programming / troubleshooting smart points & meters for customers, as neededCollect and distribute customer reference lists Product Knowledge:Expected to understand all aspects of all Sensus products to provide emergency troubleshooting in the field and application expectations to customersHigh level of network architecture knowledge to assist in troubleshooting and pre-deployment planning.High level of RF knowledge pertaining to the Sensus FlexNet AMI solution and competitive systems.Technical Support LiaisonProvide emergency troubleshooting for after-hours support needsEscalate customer support tickets as necessary within Technical SupportAssist in scheduling RNI/Security Patch upgrades on required FlexNet systems TrainingDevelop/Deliver training programs to Water Utility customers on all Sensus related productsProvide ad-hoc training to customers as needed to fill gaps from formal training by Sensus Training GroupEssential Skills, Experience, Education:Bachelor’s degree in a technical area of study or the equivalent (B.Eng. preferred)Minimum of five years of relevant and successful technical support experience with technically complex products.Ability to understand, convey, train and troubleshoot the technical aspects of water measurement, electronic instrumentation, and AMI networksHighly proficient with PC skills, software, data communications, computer networking, RF networksExcellent Verbal/Written communication skills (English) with the ability to train/instruct at all levels within the sales channel and utilityPreferably located in the Greater Vancouver Area but also willing to consider BC, Alberta or SaskatchewanAbility, willingness and desire to travel as needed (~ 40-50%)
