Job Summary:

The Technical Sales Specialist provides technical expertise that enables the sales team to fully understand customers’ needs and develop appropriate solutions. This role will demonstrate product proposals and provide technical support to the sales and engineering team, as well as customer support before and after a sale.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical advice to the sales team to resolve product service requests regarding engineering and technical issues
  • Provide support to Manufacturer Representatives, Distributors and Consultants
  • Work with the engineering team to ensure customer project requirements are met
  • Assist in the design of custom-made products
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance, product education and post-sale support
  • Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively
  • Develop and deliver (technical) sales presentations to prospective clients; adjust content based on client/audience
  • Support sales growth through professional communication with existing and potential clients
  • Advance the sales funnel from initial contact to sale to post-sale support
  • Identify and develop leads through cold calling, referrals, networking and trade shows
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements
  • Serve clients by selling products and meeting customer needs
  • Meet regular sales targets and coordinate sales projects
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery and marketing techniques
  • Maintain records utilizing CRM to track opportunities, quotes, contacts, etc.
  • Report on successes and improvement opportunities
  • Participate in marketing campaign development and application
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending internal training sessions and workshops
  • Travel required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, business, engineering or related field, or equivalent work-related experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in telecommunications in a technical sales role
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Demonstrates detailed knowledge of the company’s products and services
  • Possess professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and customers.
  • Strong leadership and negotiating skills
  • Capacity to organize and prioritize many projects and assignments simultaneously
  • Exhibits awareness of best sales practices and methods
  • A valid driver’s license and passport
  • Team player capable of communicating effectively at all levels of an organization
