Company: Westbay Instruments Job Title: Technical Sales Manager Reports to: Global Water Businesses Sales Manager Position SummaryThe Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for developing, generating, and driving sales growth for the Company via direct sales to end users and distributor sales. In this role, the Technical Sales Manager will be expected to generate product sales as well as provide applications, engineering and after-sales support to customers. Domestic and international travel to existing and prospective customers as well as trade shows will be required. The ideal candidate should be goal-oriented and have a good understanding of customer services best practices with exceptional organizational skills. The qualified candidate will receive product and applications training and will be based out of the Westbay office in Burnaby, BC. Key ResponsibilitiesAchieve quarterly and annual sales targets for the Company’s products and services;Drive day to day sales with regular interaction with distributors, direct customers and end users;Strengthen market presence for the Westbay products;Provide technical/application/training support to distributors and end-users;Prospecting customers, issuing quotes and/or preparing bid applications;Generate orders from existing and new customers to increase sales revenue;Maintain and grow the sales pipeline in order to meet growth targets;Develop and maintain key relationships with customer’s/decision makers/users of the instrumentation;Perform product demonstrations or training at tradeshows, the Company’s offices or customer sites as required;Development of the sales pipeline, accurate and regular sales forecasting and other management reporting;Perform account maintenance – follow up and process sales leads, provide accurate pipeline reporting and forecasts;Submit required documentation and reports on a timely basis, including but not limited to, expense reports, travel itinerary, forecasts, sales plans. Strong team player that is willing to support in all areas of the business as required;Other duties as assigned.Experience and Skills least 5-10 years of proven experience in technical sales, preferably in the hydrogeological industry;degree in Environmental Science or Hydrogeology;in environmental, water basin management, geotechnical, geologic repository or unconventional oil applications;working with distributors as well as with direct end users;in projects and tendering processes is preferred;record of driving and forecasting sales, application sales, appointment setting, pipeline development, and closing sales;communication, presentation and reporting skills;be able to read and interpret documents such as reports, requests for proposals, scope of work and other documents as well as the ability to write professional, accurate and routine reports and correspondence;must be a self-motivated, results driven professional with self-confidence and discipline and the ability to work autonomously as well as within a small team environment;be able to work well in an independent environment and be held accountable for performance including accurate and timely forecasting and sales delivery.written and verbal communication skills;Compensation and BenefitsAnnual base salary, depending on candidate’s experience plus commission;3 weeks annual paid vacation;Medical, Dental, Life, Disability and RetirementCompany BackgroundWestbay Instruments is the global leader in designing, developing, and supplying versatile, cost-effective subsurface characterization technology for multi-level ground water monitoring systems.
