Want to join a forward-thinking player within the packaging industry?Seeking to work for a company where your technical expertise serves the major brands we all know well and love?George Thomas has partnered exclusively with a leading, global player within the rigid plastic packaging market.We are actively recruiting a Technical Project Manager to join the North American team.The role is based in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, Ontario, CanadaPosition Location: On-SiteAs a Technical Project Manager you will be responsible for project activities related to packaging development and all technical changes within the current packaging portfolio.What Impact Will You MakeDevelopment Timeline Management: - Overseeing project timelines for packaging developmentCustomer Testing Requirements and Expectations: - Understanding and meeting customer testing requirements and expectations.Internal Testing and Validation Requirements: - Managing the company's internal testing and validation processes.Risk Management: - Identifying and mitigating risks associated with packaging development.Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: - Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.Customer Line Trials, Acceptance, and Start-up: - Facilitating customer line trials, acceptance, and start-up processes.Design and Development: - Collaborating with the technical sales manager to review Product Development Requests (PDRs) and outline testing requirements.Project Management: - Managing project timelines, arranging update meetings, and implementing procedures for testing requirements.External and Internal Networking: - Collaborating with various internal teams and external partners for design, development, and testing.Financials and Reporting: - Communicating and resolving technical, timing, and budgetary issues, and providing regular project updates.What Will Make You Stand OutBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, along with Project Management Certification preferred.Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.Proven experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project.Ability to manage multiple demands, interpret technical drawings and negotiate effectively.Desire to learn about the company's products, technologies, and processes.Experience in manufacturing project management and project scoping.This position entails approximately 30% travel.The Interview Process will involve:Virtual Meeting with the Technical Sales Manager & HR Director (1 hour)Virtual Meeting with one of the Technical Project Leaders in NA (1 hour)Virtual Meeting with Technical Director NA (1 hour)Please apply or reach out to me directly if you are interested samuel.thomas@george-thomas.com
