The primary function of the Technical Manager is to serve as the key responsible manager for the HireAir TM
rental equipment and all related processes and procedures to develop, grow, and maintain a sophisticated, industrial rental fleet that reflects the company’s commitment to excellence.
As a key member of our specialized team, you'll be responsible for a range of critical tasks. You'll excel in starting and commissioning new systems, diagnosing, and repairing compressed air and drying systems, and utilizing your expertise in electronics, direct digital control, airflow, mechanical compression, refrigeration theory, as well as control and mechanical techniques across diverse commercial settings. Moreover, you'll showcase your skills in retrofitting and repairing centrifugal compressed air systems, utilizing your knowledge of air compression theory, pipe fitting, and mechanical layouts.
Under the general supervision of the HireAir TM
Rental General Manager, the Technical Manager ensures the development and delivery of the rental fleet and the technical staff. Responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships while collaborating with other internal departments (Sales, Service, Accounting, Logistics, etc.).
As our Technical Manager, you are responsible for responding to the daily needs of our customers, pro-actively organizing and scheduling work to support the continuous uptime and efficiency of our rental fleet, driving increased rental revenue, and delivering impeccable customer service.

A key responsibility of the Technical
Manager is developing, leading, and guiding a team in the design,
development, and manufacturing of compressed air systems using knowledge
of design and engineering concepts for customized industrial rotating
equipment.
Create new team to support the technical
and operational needs of the new rental division.
Manage the team and improve operational
efficiencies, coordination, and execution of all related activities from
system design concept through production launch and commissioning.
Oversee the team’s workload, prioritizing
and delivering quality projects and processes in a fast paced and complex
environment.
Lead the technical evaluation of customer
applications and ensure appropriate selection of equipment.
Interact directly with customers to
prepare, change, and finalize engineering design project specifications as
necessary.
Participate in and contribute to
strategic planning, implementation, and execution.
Conducts system design, technical
analysis and lead on proposals of customer needs and specifications.
Provides necessary leadership, mentoring

Oversee equipment management, commissioning,
maintenance, diagnostic inspections, troubleshooting and repair of
compressed air equipment to assure equipment is meeting operating and
quality standards.

Maintain rapport with customers by

emergency call outs to respond to break-fix situations.
Coordinates with Sales/Customer/Channel
Partners/Vendors to understand customer requirements for on-site
installation of temporary air supply.
Continually enforces safety to the
highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company
issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.
Organizes and complies all daily/weekly/monthly
reporting for management.
Independently manages daily rental business
needs to maintain a reliable team and fleet.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical
Engineering / Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 - 7 years of management
experience in design engineering or air compressor industry.
Knowledge of compressed air systems or
rotating equipment and design applications concepts.
Experience in managing a team with a
focus on design/assembly/maintenance of industrial equipment.
Experience in developing policy and
procedures.
Able to manage diverse engineering
disciplines and associated people skills.
Ability to interact effectively with
internal and external stakeholders.

Previous turbo machinery/centrifugal air
compressor service experience is an asset for this position.
