With some of the most valuable IP in the world, and the resources EA has to offer, we have access to the capabilities needed to deliver amazing new experiences for an expanded audience of players worldwide.The TechnicalExperience Designerbridges the gap between artists and software engineers by combining artistic experience with programming and scripting. You will be part of the game development team and work with project managers, programmers and other technical designers, reporting to your Lead and Development Director.Responsibilities:Maintain best practices in code and art developmentUI animations and effects creation using a proprietary game engineApply proper art optimization techniques in art assetsQuickly identify and debug art and animation related issuesMotion demo design and creation for game front end and in game HUDCollaborate with engineering and art, explaining both the art team needs and the tech constraintsDocument tools and workflows on the internal WikiHigh fidelity rapid prototyping for UX evaluationQualifications:Technical skills, and ability to quickly learn new proprietary production tools and workflowFamiliar with scripting languages like Python and Visual ScriptingProficient with Adobe Animate, Photoshop, and other graphics and animation applications1+ years of experience creating 3D motion graphics, or interfaces with game engines such as Unreal or Unity.Visual animation and programmingOther Preferred Skills/Qualifications:Understanding of user experience principlesUnderstanding of revision version control software. Knowledge of Perforce is idealDegree in a relevant visual art or technical subject highly desired (e.g. BSc Computer Science or Game Programming , Game Art and Design Diploma)Ceci ne s’applique pas au Québec.BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSThe base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.HOURLY PAY RANGES• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):º $79,900 - $111,900 CAN AnnuallyBase salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
