Requirements The Columbia Valley Youth Soccer (CVYS) Association is seeking a Technical Director to support our club. CVYS proudly serves the soccer communities of Invermere, Windermere, Canal Flats, Radium Hot Springs, and Edgewater, BC. We offer technical excellence through our player development program to our members. We are affiliated with Kootenay Rockies Youth Soccer Association (KRYSA) and BC Soccer. Our mission is to provide all our youth with an opportunity to learn and play soccer, while providing competitive soccer and quality coaching.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a passion and enthusiasm for working with soccer players of all ages, board members and community coaches. The candidate will thrive in a community soccer club environment and demonstrate a passion for continuous program improvement and leadership. The candidate will have a strong passion to take the club to the next level that aligns with the Club’s strategic goals. The candidate must work well in a team?environment and will inspire, delegate, and motivate others. As a key leader in the club, the candidate will be looked upon for professionalism, mindfulness, organization, and good communication.

This is a full-time position with expectations to be on field a minimum of 3 nights a week as well as weekends.
-Focus on the concept of ‘grow people before players’
-Lead and drive the growth and development of the program.
-Recruit, retain and assign coaches.
-Manage, support, and deliver on a coach mentoring and development strategy.
-Evaluate ongoing player development needs and issues.
-Build competitive and player development models.
-Assist and implement a player evaluation process that includes written assessments, feedback to players and parents, and recommendations for individual development upon request.
-Coach CVYS teams
-Adhere to all National and Provincial governing body guidelines and recommendations as required.
-Any other activities that the Board believes can benefit our players.

Your Skills and Experience:
-Preference will be given to candidates that possess a National B license or UEFA B license (required).
-A minimum of 5 years of youth soccer coaching experience (required).
-A minimum of 1 year of Soccer Technical Director experience (required).
-Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical planning to non-technical stakeholders, including parents.
-Experience in mentoring coaches in youth soccer.
-Knowledge of best practices in soccer.
-Effective conflict management skills for both players, coaches, and parents.
-Experience with program development, as well as ability to work with volunteers.
-Positive attitude towards work, co-workers, volunteers, and the public.
-Ability to attend board and community meetings, with notice.
-Strong use of various software programs including but not limited to: MS Office, Excel etc.
-Valid drivers’ license.
-A Criminal Record Check (CRC) with vulnerable sector check.
