As the Technical Designer, reporting to the Creative Director, you will be responsible for gathering all technical design information. In this role, you will be responsible for all support functions within the design team including internal communication, follow-up, file updates, library maintenance and more, while completing assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner.

About the Role:

  • Prepare artwork setup, including, but not limited to all-over prints and screen prints
  • Complete technical packages including Design Technical Sheet and prepare to send overseas
  • Create black & white sketches with garment construction details
  • Provide formatted comments on lab dips, strike-offs, and more to internal Import team for approvals with overseas teams
  • Ensure customers are receiving the products to be approved in a timely manner and provide feedback to Import Coordinators
  • Prepare and send all fabric qualities, samples and/or PP samples required for buyers’ approval
  • Acts as the liaison between the Sales team and buyers for anything pertaining to product approval
  • Maintain a library of all approvals following the set structure and organization provided by Director
  • Attend fit sessions as needed
  • Enter data pertaining to the sold items into our PLM system
  • Carrie out special projects and assignments as required

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years experience as a technical designer in the apparel industry.
  • College diploma/DEC in Fashion design an asset
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Can work well independently and as part of a team.
