Job Summary

This position requires a proactive thinker who can bridge the gap between IT and business stakeholders, promoting and facilitating the development and implementation of information technology solutions, identifying and documenting designated business area needs and issues, determining required changes, recommending solutions, assessing impacts and facilitating the implementation of new and enhanced solutions.

How you will make a difference

  • Leading and facilitating designated business area analysis activities, interfacing with internal stakeholders to understand and review business operations, issues, and technology needs and goals, conducting analyses, compiling results, recommending solution/technology enhancement strategies, collecting, validating, and translating business requirements into documentation and functional/conceptual designs, and supporting plan implementations.

  • Maintaining Business Process Management (BPM) methodologies and business analysis frameworks, promoting the adoption of process design standards and best practices in business analysis, providing guidance to junior team members, and developing recommendations for improvements and enhancements.

  • Coordinating with project working group to plan work packages (activities, tasks, and deliverables along with target timelines), assign and monitor progress of work, and conduct reviews of deliverables.

  • Defining and obtaining agreement on business requirements and proposed solutions with stakeholders and executing approval and sign-off processes in various project phases.

  • Conducting post-implementation review.

  • Developing and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and department and application development partners, facilitating information/data/project requirement gathering and driving consensus, resolving issues, and keeping abreast of new products/ business solution offerings, technology trends, and innovations for future initiative implementations.

Requirements that are important to us

  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

  • Four to six years of Business Analysis experience in Information Technology projects, working in large-scale implementations focused on digital transformation and customer experience.

  • CBAP (Certified Business Analyst Profession) or equivalent is required.

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification and knowledge is an asset.

  • Experience with systems development IT projects and integration approaches/platforms (e.g. Microsoft platforms and tools, Salesforce, Azure, ERP, CRM, Business Central, Oracle enterprise solutions).

  • Familiar with and experienced using SDLC, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.

  • Experience with Business Analysis procedures, documentation including functional specifications and user stories, and requirements/data-gathering techniques.

  • Ability to collaborate with all areas of technology and experience with working in multiple stakeholder groups.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.

  • Demonstrates strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and provide technical solutions.

  • Adherence to deadlines, and ability to prioritize workloads to achieve results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Ability to work as an individual contributor as well as a team player.

The OMA has moved to a permanent hybrid work environment. As such, the individual in this position will be required to work a minimum number of days in our Toronto office.
