About Us
The Indigenous Centre for Cumulative Effects (ICCE) is an Indigenous-founded, Indigenous-led, and exclusively Indigenous-serving organization that supports Indigenous communities in addressing cumulative effects through a Two-Eyed Seeing approach. Our primary objective is to build and enhance the technical and scientific capacity of Indigenous communities across Canada, based on the values of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities. As a resource, we provide funding for community-led projects, share knowledge, and link Indigenous communities together, working towards intergenerational decision-making and partnership building.
About You
You possess a deep understanding of both Indigenous knowledge and Western knowledge in cumulative effects, including different methodologies, legislation, policies, and partnerships. An active listener, you are able to find shared understandings and draw common ground on the issues surrounding an Indigenous perspective in cumulative effects. From your experiences, you’re able to synthesize this information, test hypotheses with data, and inform different audiences on the capacity of Indigenous communities in cumulative effects as well as Indigenous perspectives on cumulative effects.
Key Traits
About the Role
Provide policy and technical advice as a Technical Advisory to the Indigenous Centre for Cumulative Effects (ICCE) to advance our mission. Your expertise will help inform the Executive Director, ICCE National Office, contractors, and Indigenous communities on cumulative effects from an Indigenous perspective. This includes organizing the ICCE conference, managing online services, networking with Indigenous and government organizations, creating communications such as website and social media posts, conducting webinars, and giving presentations to partners.
You will lead the administrative aspects of the Technical Advisory Committee and collaborate with Indigenous communities on issues surrounding cumulative effects, capacity, and translating different knowledge systems. Much of your work will involve supporting the Community Funding Program, identifying areas of support, gaps in knowledge, testing hypotheses, and developing resources to support Indigenous communities such as developing CCE’s network of practitioners. You will also be involved in the management of projects for the Community Funding Program, following-up on funding agreements, reviewing reports and supervising funding guidelines. This may include assisting recipients in addressing cumulative effects, and managing funding agreements.
