ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
CHBA’s national office is seeking a dynamic individual to provide technical support to CHBA’s committees and councils on GHG emissions reductions and climate change resilience. Reporting to the Director, Building Science, this Technical Advisor position will provide advisory services on guides, codes, standards, and regulations as they relate to residential construction, and will play a key role in integrating GHG emissions reductions and resilient building practices into CHBA’s Net Zero Home Labelling Program. Key activities will involve coordinating, analyzing, and communicating emissions and resilience related subjects, including collaborating with provincial and local home builder association (HBA) offices across Canada, and closely collaborating with CHBA’s Net Zero Team in the delivery of related initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Liaise with CHBA committees, key government agencies and officials, and strategic partners regarding technical issues and opportunities related to emissions and resilience by:

ABOUT YOU, THE CANDIDATE
Education
Post-secondary education in architecture, engineering or residential construction technology or a related field.
Experience
Note: Assets throughout this document are not an essential qualification for the role but would be beneficial if the candidate has them.

Hours of work
The hours of work are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, though some flexibility is available. CHBA also has a hybrid work policy, with a combination of work-from-the-office and work-from-home days. There may be a requirement to travel within Canada to attend meetings. The incumbent may be asked to work overtime as required.
