Job Scope:

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) takes full responsibility for the daily operation of customer service functions with a focus on technical support and inside sales to achieve sales growth objectives. Furthermore, TAM engages in inside sales activities to grow sales with existing customers while prospecting for new customers. TAM helps train and coach co-workers, and reports to the Team Lead/manager. 

As a qualified TAM at Biomatik, you are expected to respond effectively and promptly to customer inquiries with a good understanding of product knowledge and demonstrate a can-do attitude and effective closing skills to meet customer satisfaction and sales goals. You not only have outstanding communication and organizational skills, training and coaching skills but also outstanding sales closing skills. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inbound customer inquiries effectively and promptly.
  • Prepare price quotations. Understand and clarify customer requirements, and recommend specific products or services based on the customer's needs as part of the quotation preparation process.
  • Follow up with customers on sales opportunities and close sales.
  • Process orders and prepare purchase orders. 
  • Provide after-sales support, including order updates, troubleshooting, complaints, and billing questions.
  • Engage in inside sales to grow sales with existing customers while prospecting for new customers.
  • Provide training and coaching for coworkers and external distributors.
  • Follow and improve company policies and workflow procedures. 
  • Demonstrate ownership, teamwork, and leadership.
  • Actively participate in team-building activities and contribute to a positive team culture. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in biology, biotechnology, or other life sciences disciplines.
  • 2+ years of customer service or sales experience is required.
  • CRM/Accounting Software experience is an asset.
  • Leadership experience is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Excellent Organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word, and Google Docs/Sheets.
