TheTeam Leader, UX Research,is responsible forleading, coaching and growinga team ofUX professionals focused onuser research and analysisfor our digital assets; this includes guiding employees in both day-to-day operations aswell aslonger-term performance and career planning.As a key member of the UX leadership team, theTeam Leader, UX Researchwill help shape the organization's UX practice by establishing standards for UX research practices, optimizing UX research operations, and evolving UX research as a discipline within Medavie. As a professional in the field, the Team Leader is also expected to perform hands-onresearchand analysis as needed to support execution.

This role is situated within the Digital Transformation Office, whichwas established to enable focused execution of Medavie's digital strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providingday-to-day UX research directiontoteam members, including guiding employees ontasks, reviewingworkas needed, and advising on methods and best practices.
  • Supporting employee development through performance management and coaching, setting individualobjectives and monitoring progress, encouraging learning and development, and supporting employeecareer development.
  • Amplifyingthe impact of the team by assessing and evolvingteam memberresponsibilities and job requirements, assessing team skillstoidentifyand addressgaps, scaling the teamto support business needs, and leading recruitment efforts.
  • Fostering a positive and constructiveemployee experience , in collaboration with UX leadership team, by routinely collecting and acting on feedback, driving activities to encourageteam engagement, and fostering a sense of connection and purpose within the team.
  • Managing team effortto achieve corporate and department goals,including responding to business requests and advising on UX research needs, planningand initiatingwork, assigning tasks, monitoringteamprogressand effort, and evaluatingand reporting onsuccess.
  • Contributinghands-on to work effortsas needed to support the team, such as responding to business requests and advising on UX research needs, evaluating existing experiences and journeys, setting up user tests or surveys, conducting interviews or moderated user tests, reviewing and analyzing results, etc.
  • MaturingUX research as adisciplinewithin Medavie by establishing UX research standards and resources, optimizing UX research workflows and engagement models, driving theUX ResearchCommunity of Practice within Medavie, and advising leadershipwith regards to UX researchneeds.
  • Raising awareness of the value of UX research across the organization by fostering positive interdepartmental relationships, offering a UX research perspective in cross-functional strategy or design workshops, advocating for UX researchin work assessment and planning activities, and collecting and sharing data related to how UX research success.
  • Required Qualifications

    Education : University degree in related field.

    Work Experience: Working experience as a UX research professional (5+ years) with proven leadership capabilities.

    Other Qualifications :

    • Deep understanding of UX research methods and activities.
    • Experience with resource planning and project scheduling.
    • Excellent analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
    • Well-honed interpersonal skills to negotiate priorities, resolve conflicts, and communicate clearly and professionally.
    • Passionate about all things UX and other areas of design, technology and innovation.

    Language Skills : Fluency in English is essential. Working knowledge of French is considered an asset.
