Job Description Summary

Supervises all repair, maintenance, and operational activities in the assigned area, establishes schedules, preventive maintenance programs, parts inventories, and assists with development of new projects and capitals to minimize plant downtime and maintenance costs. Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service. Responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and creating an engaged and team-oriented work force in order to improve business results. This position will have supervisory authority and work closely with the other Supervisory Staff members and other departments to meet performance, quality and safety goals and standards established by the employer. Ability to work all days of the week, including weekends and shift work is required, with a strong work ethic and employment history. Job Description

  • Maintains, fosters, promotes, and enforces safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs. 
  • Directs employees for holding safety huddles, safety audits, and participation in safety programs.
  • Provides supervision, training, and leadership to insure that employees are performing assigned work properly.
  • Coordinates scheduling with the Human Resource department to provide adequate staffing for production requirements or pre-operational set up.
  • Provide resources to position the team for success, including materials, equipment and human resources as needed to maintain production schedules.
  • Facilitate collaboratively on continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
  • Oversee various functions of the business and maintain an engaged and team-oriented workforce to improve business results.
  • Function as a good corporate citizen, a partner in improving our sustainable responsibilities, and a supporter of the local community.
  • Monitors water production levels and equipment and makes adjustments or causes adjustments to be made as necessary.
  • Monitors Water Treatment, Industrial Runoff, Industrial Wastewater, and Domestic Wastewater Control Systems to insure that safety, quality and cost standards are maintained. 
  • Develops short interval action plans to address variances.
  • Evaluates subordinate performance, communicates with employees, provide information on improvement and documents.
  • Makes constant walk-throughs of the assigned areas, communicates with assigned employees at utilizing Lamb Weston Operation Culture tools and principles including Daily Planning Meetings and Daily Control Boards.
  • Monitors condition and effectiveness of assign equipment; directs staff to conduct repairs on shift to meet plant goals as needed, communicates to Production/Superintendents / Maintenance Department about any needed equipment repair not able to complete on shift. Provides operators with change information, including conducting change huddles.
  • Communicates with all department supervisors to optimize operations. Monitors, audits and enforces company work rules, including G.M.P.'s, and safety guidelines and personal protective equipment. Collects data during and at the end of shift to complete required paperwork, which may include shift reports and timecards.
  • Conducts Daily/Weekly Operating Report with employees to address variances and Operating Equipment Effectiveness gaps.
  • Coordinates, arranges, and supervises or provides for the completion of corrective and preventative maintenance in accordance with standard operating procedures, of all processing practices, and financial considerations of the equipment to minimize plant down time.
  • Provides recommendations for budgeting and maintains cost control for area of responsibility. Including but not limited to recommendations for the One-Shot Program.
  • Complete assigned One-Shot Projects.
  • Provides support to the Capital Program. Including but not limited to execution of assigned capital projects.
  • Provides recommendations to the capital program based on equipment reliability plan for area of responsibility.
  • Develop Reliability Improvement Plan for area of responsibility.
  • Maintains working relationship with Contractors and Vendors to maintain equipment reliability and keep abreast of equipment obsolescence and new technology.
  • Maintain Vendor contact for sourcing and ordering materials and supplies for direct repair. Provide oversight and management to Contractors and Vendors on site.
  • Provide oversight and management on Maintenance Repair and Overhaul inventory levels for area of responsibility to meet Repair & Maintenance (R&M) and financial objectives of the Facility.
  • Including but not limited to providing inventory recommendations based on equipment Bill of Materials and Spare Parts List.
  • Implement Operating Equipment Effectiveness improvements.
  • Responsible for maintaining skills flexibility matrices and training of maintenance mechanics. Develops resident subject matter experts.
  • Generally supervises 2 to 4 subordinate employees in the water and wastewater department. Is responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned areas of responsibility. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 3 Certification for Unrestricted Water Treatment from AEP.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Water Treatment Trade.
