YOUR PROFILE

You are recognized for your initiative, efficiency and working knowledge of Federal and province of Quebec’s environmental regulations and regulatory review processes. You are someone who is passionate about environmental management and thrives on working in a dynamic and multidisciplinary workplace. You would like to join a dedicated and pioneering team of experienced professionals in the renewable energy field in a leadership role.

YOUR CHALLENGE

As the Team Leader, Environment and Community Relations, you will be responsible for managing a team of Environment and Community Relations professionals responsible for managing the regulatory and environmental processes of renewable energy projects. In addition to the impact assessment process, you and your team will be responsible for applying for permits from departments and municipalities and be called upon to carry out environmental monitoring during construction. You and your team will also be responsible for the public consultation process to achieve the project’s social acceptability. You are someone who stands out for your interpersonal skills and ability to adapt. Reporting to the Director of Environment and Community Relations, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Establish a market-specific environment and community relations (E&C) strategy for Quebec based on Boralex's development project portfolio
  • Oversee the smooth running of mandates entrusted to the E&C team to ensure quality partnerships and the success of the company's projects.
  • Establish and maintain solid relationships of trust with the various external stakeholders and regulatory agencies to promote Boralex's projects with them.
  • Monitor policy statements and regulations that could impact on E&C operations for Boralex.
  • Establish and oversee strategy for public consultation;
  • Support the development team in responding to Request for Proposals;
  • Support the acquisition team in reviewing projects and portfolios for regulatory and environmental compliance.

YOUR SKILLS

  • Master’s degree in environmental science, an asset;
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, environmental studies or other relevant fields;
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in the environmental field;
  • Knowledge of Quebec and federal authorization processes;
    • Knowledge of other provincial/state processes an asset;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and similar programs;
  • Ability to review and write technical reports;
  • Autonomy, initiative and organizational skills;
  • Leadership, strong communication, negotiation and teamwork skills;
