As the Team Coordinator, Safety and Training, you will ensure compliance for all vehicles and equipment operated by City employees, except for Calgary Police Service (CPS) and Calgary Fire Department (CFD). You will also manage the programs responsible for operator compliance including collision investigation and operator training. Primary duties include: Administer the Corporate operator training and compliance program for The City's vehicles and equipment, including auditing field training programs, monitoring collision-related trends, identifying gaps in current practices, and adjustments to compliance and training programs to mitigate risk. Enhance The City's collision investigation and compliance program by continuously improving it through focused education, inspections, and implementation of new programs to reduce on-road safety risk to the corporation. Oversee the City of Calgary's carrier profile that governs vehicle safety across the corporation for all business units. Support the Law Department, including Claims as an expert witness. Ensure adherence to the National Safety Code, applicable transportation laws, legislation and policies and provide guidance in the development of corporate policies that support safety and compliance for the City of Calgary. Supervise staff, plan, and manage operational budgets to drive improvements to service delivery. Qualifications  A completed 2-year diploma in Business, Adult education or related field with at least 10 years of experience in collision investigation and reconstruction, National Safety Code audits and provincial carrier profile processes in a large fleet environment. OR A degree in Business, Adult education or related field with at least 8 years of experience in collision investigation and reconstruction, National Safety Code audits and provincial carrier profile processes in a large fleet environment. Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered. Completed Level 2 Collison Investigation course is required. Success in this position requires strong strategic and critical thinking, problem solving, and the ability to negotiate and influence outcomes with interested parties.
