Talent Acquisition Specialist, Ontario (Remote)

Role Description

The Talent Acquisition (TA) Specialist is responsible for the successful recruitment of all levels of operation and management roles positions across primarily the Store Operations, Wholesale and Supply, and Mining divisions.This will be achieved through the development of detailed search strategies, market analysis and reports, marketing campaigns and top-tier service delivery.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist assists other recruitment team members in the development of search strategy, program management and relationship development with internal stakeholders and external partnerships (eg.,career fairs, campus recruitment, local community employment services, trade shows).

Responsibilities

Recruitment
  • Plan and deliver the full recruitment cycle process for all levels of searches
  • Partner with hiring managers to ensure a fluid and consistent hiring process is achieved
  • Identify vacancy requirements, review job specifications, qualifications and skills
  • Collaborate with the HR Business Partner team in reviewing role profiles for all open searches
  • Collaborate on go-to market strategies for all searches
  • Plan and execute on recruitment objectives for each position in a timely manner
  • Provide regular updates of search progress to stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Maintain active communication with passive and active candidates to develop a qualified pipeline for current and future hiring opportunities
  • Build and maintain a network through industry contacts, association memberships, community groups etc. for the purpose of building brand awareness, career opportunities and referrals
  • Build partnerships with educational institutions, co-op programs and professional associations to promote Kal Tire career opportunities
  • Attend career fairs and community events for recruiting and company recognition
  • Encourage team member referral programs, communicating its importance to our internal team members
  • Maintain current knowledge of Pay Equity, human rights and employment standards guidelines and laws

Interview & Selection Process
  • Conduct full-cycle recruitment process to ensure successful hiring requirements are achieved including pre-screening, interviewing, short listing, referencing, and offer presentation
  • Liaise with hiring managers to schedule and coordinate interviews for final vetting and selection
  • Manage and maintain applicant tracking system for recruitment and candidate management
  • Contact all applicants to inform them of the status of their employment possibilities, consideration, and selection
  • Review tracking of recruitment metrics to identify success factors, costs and opportunities for improvement
  • Perform ad hoc special projects as assigned

Onboarding
  • Act as key liaison for new team members as required by hiring managers to ensure all needs are met in order to function in their role.
  • Coach and support managers in the use of onboarding tools for new hires to achieve a positive candidate experience.

Job Requirements

Work Experience:
  • 3+ years of retail and/or high-volume recruitment experience; light industrial, automotive, mechanical or mining recruitment experience is a strong bonus.
  • Experience in temp staffing agency or Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) in high-volume hiring is a strong bonus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Verbal and written fluency in English; Quebecois French is a bonus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong and trusting professional relationships.
  • Strong level or applicant screening and interviewing skills.
  • Hands-on candidate sourcing skills, especially for rural locations across Canada.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of hiring managers and offer the appropriate options, solutions and resolutions required.
  • Knowledge of the ethical practices and guidelines of federal and provincial legislation as it relates to recruitment (eg. Human Rights, Labor Codes, Privacy).

Education:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Commerce, Business Management or other related field, or the equivalent of education and experience

Special Requirements:
  • Attendance required for some evening and weekend recruitment events
  • Occasional travel required
