Job Description

At BenchSci, we are building a world-class product and team of talent, and as a result, we’re looking for a dynamic and people-focused Manager to take our Talent Acquisition team to the next level. Reporting to the VP of Talent, the Talent Acquisition Manager will play a key role in ensuring that we have the right talent in the right roles at the right time—all in support of achieving BenchSci’sgoal of helping scientists make breakthrough discoveries so they can bring new treatments to patients faster.

This role is a unique opportunity to support talent acquisition strategy and professionals who buildhigh-performing teams across our organization. Collaborating with key partners across the business, such as senior leadership, Talent Business Partners, and subject matter experts, like diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), this role will support critical business needs through talent strategy and a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists. You will:
  • Lead, coach, and empower a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists supporting strategy design to deliver critical talent needs
  • Establish collaborative relationships between Talent Acquisition and Talent Business Partnership to ensure the right people are in the right roles to meet key business needs
  • Identify, advocate, and enable projects and programs for improving talent attraction and acquisition
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment—from sourcing strategy to offer acceptance—across both technical and non-technical positions
  • Lead a successful internal job posting/candidacy process to provide opportunities for employee growth and succession
  • Establish relationships with senior leaders to understand the scope of hiring needs and provide creative and strategic recruitment solutions to meet all recruiting goals
  • Manage the applicant tracking system (ATS), operations, and reporting of the Talent Acquisition function to iterate on and improve processes that reduce time-to-hire, improve candidate experience, and drive data-forward decision-making
  • Promote a positive candidate experience by driving initiatives spanning the candidate journey, including practices for timely communications and feedback
  • Identify and lead special recruiting projects relating to DEI, candidate engagement, employer branding, and operations
  • Partner with Strategic Communications on an employer branding strategy to promote BenchSci as an employer of choice, showcasing our culture, values, and opportunities to attract top talent
  • Act as an ambassador to represent BenchSci as an employer of choice and promote new career opportunities
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices to apply to BenchSci’s recruitment, branding, and sourcing strategies
  • Own a reduced portfolio of requisitions, as required
Key Success Measures For The Role:
  • BenchSci fills all roles at or at better than our agreed-to timelines
  • BenchSci fills roles by making use of cost-effective recruiting channels per our agreed-to metrics
  • Feedback from the TA team, TBP colleagues, and Hiring Managers validates the positive and value-adding contributions of the TA
  • Regretted and non-regretted employee turnover among new hires after 1 and after 3 years are less than or equal to our retention metrics
  • BenchSci is considered a destination for talent based on our offer acceptance rates
You have:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition, with manager-level experience leading a recruiting team
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry best practices and applications across Talent Acquisition
  • Extensive experience using LinkedIn Recruiter or other candidate-sourcing tools
  • Experience using industry-standard applicant tracking systems, such as Lever
  • Ability to work with autonomy to own, execute, and deliver on short- and long-term projects using roadmaps and aligning with key stakeholders
  • Strong time management skills and ability to navigate multiple requests and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to foster strong, collaborative relationships both within a Talent Management function and across the wider organization
